NYC Weather: Sunday’s snowstorm could bring a few inches to the city, parts of the Tri-State

NEW YORK (WABC) – A winter storm warning is in effect for Sunday, as a fast-moving system will drop three to six inches of snow in most of the Tri-State area, for which you will likely have to hoe and plow.

WARNING: Winter Storm Warning in New York, Long Island and parts of the Tri-State Territory

On Sunday it will be brisk with fluctuating prices, and it will decrease in the late afternoon.

The heaviest snowfall is expected between 11:00 and 14:00

Untreated roads will be packed with snow and be slippery, as three to six inches of snow accumulate for most areas, but six to 10 inches are possible over eastern Long Island, which will be closer to the trail of the storm. South Jersey should expect less snow due to lighter temperatures that cause rain to mix.

total snow

Expect one to three inches well north and west of the city, as the areas will be far removed from plenty of moisture with this storm.

Rain and snow can initially mix right along the coast before snow takes over.

And keep the digs on hand next week. On Tuesday we can get another chance of snow or rain ushering in bitterly cold Arctic air.
