NYC COVID-19 vaccinations postponed, personal classes fixed due to snow

Mayor Bill de Blasio announced Sunday that the Coronavirus vaccinations have been scheduled for Monday due to the impending snowstorm, along with the suspension of personal school classes and parking on the side.

At least 14 to 16 inches of snow will continue in New York from Sunday night until Tuesday, the mayor predicted during a press briefing in City Hall.

“Fourteen to sixteen inches would be bad enough,” he said. “It can be a lot more than that.”

With the storm wind, de Blasio announced that all appointments for coronavirus vaccination scheduled for Monday would be rescheduled, and a call on Tuesday’s appointments had yet to be made.

“The last thing we want to do is encourage our seniors to get out in the middle of a storm like this,” he said.

In addition, personal classes at public schools were scrapped for Monday, with classes moving online.

As with the vaccinations for vaccination, an appeal must be made to Tuesday’s classes, de Blasio said.

Alternative side parking was suspended for both Monday and Tuesday, he said.
