Some of New York’s most prominent female Republicans mocked and mocked the speaker’s proposal, Nancy Pelosi, to remove gender language from the official House Rules.
“Instead of reviving the economy, restoring our constitutional freedoms and delivering results to the American people, Speaker Pelosi chose her debut legislation – which would ban words like mother, sister and daughter,” Rep. Elise Stefanik, upstate, told The Post. “It is clear that she is caused by the historic number of GOP women elected to Congress and who will fire Nancy Pelosi in 2022 once and for all.”
Elected Staten Island Congressman Nicole Malliotakis also had words for the new rules.
“There are millions of Americans who are suffering, our economy is hurting, the distribution of vaccines is deteriorating and Nancy Pelosi and the House Democrats are worried about this nonsense,” she said. “Here’s a gender-neutral word to describe this legislation: ridiculous.”
Proposed amendments to the rules of the House of Representatives will honor all gender identities by eliminating specific terms such as mother and father, son and daughter and aunt and uncle.
Instead, only gender-neutral terms such as ‘parent’, ‘child’, ‘brother or sister’ and ‘parent’s brother’ were allowed in the text of the House Rules.
Outrage even made its way to the all-important end of the Georgia Senate, where Republican Kelly Loeffer warned that was reason enough to vote for her.
‘The far-left’s priorities, everyone. If you still want to call yourself a father, daughter, mother or son, then vote for me and @Perduesenate on Tuesday, ‘she tweeted on Saturday, adding:’ With kind regards, a proud daughter. ‘
Meanwhile, top Dems in Congress have been honored for the new regulations.
“I am proud to begin the 117th Congress by changing these historic rules,” Jim McGovern said said in a tweet.
Pelosi calls the new rules and calls them ‘the most inclusive in history’.
However, both Pelosi and McGovern still use gender terms to describe themselves on their respective Twitter pages.
The new rules are expected to be voted on when the House meets again on Sunday.
The rules also received a major boost from progressive Queens / Bronx representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who said she was “Grateful for @ RepMcGovern’s leadership” during the process.
An insider from Capitol Hill told The Post that the idea of removing gender from the new rule package probably originated in the House of Diversity and Inclusion. The same rules also contained the office as a permanent new addition to the Capitol.
The agency was first established by Democrats at the beginning of the previous congress.
“This office is responsible for submitting a diversity plan to Congress to guide and guide homes that have offices in service to recruit, hire, train, develop, promote a diverse workforce, to promote and retain, “reads his official article.
