Nvidia will release the terminated GPUs again to alleviate GTX 3080 shortages

Nvidia could not meet the insatiable demand for its latest graphics cards, so the company has found a temporary solution: it is bringing back older GPUs, the GTX 1050 Ti and RTX 2060.

Consumers have spent a lot more money on home entertainment as a result of the pandemic, and new graphics cards enabling innovative graphical rendering of games in gaming are all the rage, leading to limited supply and desperate customers. Oh, and it does not help that unscrupulous scale press has taken advantage at the moment by hoarding stock to mark it up to sky-high prices.

The RTX 2060 was released in 2019 and still supports beam detection, although it can not deliver high resolution games at the same frame rates as the latest RTX 3080. The GTX 1050 Ti has meanwhile been released in 2016 and is much slower, but maybe we think it will be enough for new computer gamers who want to play less demanding games.

Capitalism, baby – Nvidia can find stock because the latest cards are built on an 8nm manufacturing process, while the older cards are a 12nm process. The latter can be pumped out cheaper, as the process has long been established, while the newer 8nm process is still relatively new and very popular.

But while these older cards were originally released at low prices – $ 140 for the GTX 1050 Ti and $ 350 for the RTX 2060 – the huge demand for GPUs is currently affecting it as well. Gizmodo reported that the cards were sold online for as much as $ 400 and $ 700.

Since the older cards are a compromise in performance, you can just sit this card and wait for a newer RTX 3080. Just stay with what you have now, or stream some titles from Xbox Game Pass. Do not let Nvidia benefit from your pain.
