NVIDIA to address gaming shortages by increasing GeForce GTX 1650 graphics card offering

Graphics cards for games, and GPUs in general, are scarce worldwide, but NVIDIA plans to fight it back by expanding the offering of one of its most popular graphics cards, the GeForce GTX 1650. suggests that NVIDIA may increase the supply of its older Turing-based mainstream cards to address shortcomings in the gaming segment.

NVIDIA apparently tackles GPU shortages by increasing GeForce GTX 1650 graphics card offering

This is a difficult time for gamers, especially those who have sold out their graphics cards to get new tickets. The graphics market has been plagued by both issues caused by cryptocurrency mining and also the insufficient supply of GPUs in general from both AMD and NVIDIA. Multiple reports have said that the shortages will continue until the end of 2021, leaving many people without an excellent and good game graphics card for the whole of 2021.

A few months ago, NVIDIA decided to expand the offering of its Turing-based GeForce RTX 2060 and the Pascal-based GeForce GTX 1050 series graphics cards to DIY and OEM segments to streamline things in the main segment. Now the company plans to launch another of its popular graphics cards, the Turing-based GeForce GTX 1650, in the retail segment. Technically, the card will not be re-launched as production has not yet ended, but NVIDIA plans to increase the supply of its card to meet the demand of several major players.

The source reports that the supply of the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 is expected to increase in April and that more Turing TU117 GPUs will enter the market by May 2021. The graphics card is not an animal, as it contains 896 CUDA cores up to 1590 MHz clocks, and features 4 GB of GDDR6 memory operating at 12 Gbps on a 128-bit bus interface. The card has a TDP of only 75 W and this gives the main players a very good reason to buy the card.

Currently, the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 is the lowest priced at $ 399 USD, which is a 2.5 times higher price than the $ 149 US MSRP on which the card was introduced. The increase in supply may or may not affect the prices much, but in the last few months the GTX 1650 has been getting more attention from the main players. The card achieved the second highest graphics card share on Steam’s hardware survey and is the 3rd most popular graphics card. The RTX 2060 and GTX 1050/1060 are also in the top five categories, which makes sense for NVIDIA to increase their offering.
