We’ve known for a long time that Nvidia has a GeForce RTX-focused event on January 12th, and although we’re always suspected that it’s the RTX 3060 GPU and RTX 30 mobile chips, the company confirmed some of the content in addition to ‘ a cut-and-you’ll-miss-it-teaser video on Twitter.
For a nine-second video, there is a surprising amount you can get out of it, so here is a full explanation. First, however, the video itself:

The interesting pieces all appear at the four-second point, where four images follow each other quickly. First, something that looks suspicious on a laptop, which is the strongest indication that Nvidia intends to give its mobile GPUs an Amper-based shot in the arm, just as the desktop GPUs were upgraded last year.
This is not entirely surprising. Not only is it a bit odd that top-end gaming laptops are currently at maximum at the RTX 2080 Super, as RTX 3070 or 3080 cards can be installed on desktops, but we have already listed (quickly drawn) lists seen from RTX 30-based laptops. suggests that an official release is imminent. If the last leak was accurate, we can expect an Nvidia RTX 3060 with 6 GB GDDR6 memory, an RTX 3070 Max-Q with 8 GB GDDR6 and an RTX 3080 Max-Q with 16 GB GDDR6 RAM.
The second fast flickering image is not about hardware but is related to a probable software link. This is a photo of People Can Fly’s upcoming cooperative shooter Outriders. Expect the game to have some fine effects that make it a particularly strong showcase of Nvidia’s hardware.
Next, we get a quick flash of the GeForce RTX logo, which may mean nothing since the GeForce RTX focus is focused, but our guess is that it is related to the unveiling of the RTX 3060 GPU. There have long been rumors about the entry-level RTX 30 card and it will fall short of the $ 400 3060 Ti for regular game consoles. Rumor has it that we will see both 6 GB and 12 GB versions, but we will have to wait until Tuesday to be sure.
The latest survey is a picture of what appears to be Resizable BAR (Base Address Register) technology. As our sister site Tom’s Hardware explains, this smart technology increases the throughput between your CPU and GPU to improve game performance. Almost all GPUs support it, but it needs to be activated via a software update. Its recording in the video indicates that Nvidia is almost ready to push the switch.
The remaining seven seconds of the video are just logos and a reminder that everything will be announced soon, with details on how to tune in to the event. As a reminder, it starts on January 12th at 09:00 PST, and you can watch it via Nvidia’s official Twitch and YouTube channels if you want to take first notice.
