- The Nubia Red Magic 6 Series is now officially in China.
- Both phones have 165Hz AMOLED screens, while the Pro charges up to 18GB of RAM and 120W.
- An international launch is set for mid-March.
More phones use high refresh rate screens, with game phones and flagships frequently touching 120Hz. But the Nubia Red Magic 6 raises the figure even higher.
The company announced the Red Magic 6 and 6 Pro in China with both the 6.8-inch 2,400 x 1,080 AMOLED screens that can refresh up to 165Hz. The screen can also be scaled down to 30Hz to save battery power. Participating in this cocktail is a 500Hz touch sample rate (for single touch, 360Hz for multi touch), which should improve the response time of the phone during the game.
Outside of the exhibit, the Red Magic 6 Series looks like a great prospect. It comes with the Snapdragon 888 chipset coupled with at least 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of UFS 3.1 storage.
Power is provided by a 5.050mAh battery on the standard Red Magic 6 with a 4500mAh unit on the Pro model. Oddly enough, the larger battery is connected to 66W charging. However, the Red Magic 6 Pro gets 120W charge. Nubia notes that it can charge the Pro’s battery from 0% to 50% within five minutes.
For imaging, the phones use a 64 + 8 + 2MP setup, with ultrawide and macro shooters. There is also an 8MP selfie camera on the front.
Other features include the return of the capacitive shoulder buttons, a copper heatsink cooled by Nubia’s high RPM fans, and an on – screen fingerprint sensor. Headphone jacks are also available on both models.
