Will Novak Djokovic ever learn?
The hot-headed no. Men’s tennis star lost his cool again on Tuesday and hit his racket against the court on his way to a quarter-final at the Australian Open.
Djokovic became furious and violated the court after losing a point to Alexander Zverev in the third set.
The 33-year-old Serb has bounced back for a 6-7 (6), 6-2, 6-4, 7-6 (6) victory over the number 6 series as he wants a ninth Australian Open title adds his male record.
“I regained my focus after breaking the rocket,” Djokovic said in an interview with the court. “Things started to move in a positive direction for me a bit.”
“It was a relief for me, but I would not recommend this kind of relief channeling if you would call it that,” Djokovic later told reporters. ‘Of course I’m not proud of it, but you’re going through a lot of different emotions, you’m going through an inner struggle. Everyone is different. I have my own demons that I have to fight with. ”
Djokovic has been fighting demons for some time.
He was recently disqualified from the U.S. Open in September after frustratingly hitting a ball and unintentionally hitting a line judge in the throat.
This outburst cost him his 29-game winning streak.
“I will take it as deeply as possible for me as a great lesson,” Djokovic said at the time.
