Nothing taps Teenage Engineering to design future products

The Swedish electronics house Teenage Engineering, especially known for its range of beautifully designed audio products, is working with Nothing on the upcoming product releases. Nothing is the new consumer technology brand of ex-OnePlus driver Carl Pei. Pei says Teenage Engineering is one of the founding partners of Nothing, and will drive design aesthetics at its new venture.

Pei says he has worked with Teenage Engineering to create a product card “that is unique and does not fit into anyone’s vision.” Nothing’s first product is a pair of wireless earbuds that will be released this summer. It will be interesting to see what design instructions they use of Teenage Engineering’s M-1 headphones.

Nothing says that the co-founder and CEO of Teenage Engineering, Jesper Kouthoofd, will serve as a creative lead and ” visionary behind Nothing’s design world ”, while Tom Howard, the Deputy CEO of Teenage Engineering, will be the design chief of Nothing will be. “After months of research and development, we are now in a place where I believe we will show the world something exciting,” Kouthoofd said.

As a reminder of the kinds of products that Teenage Engineering has offered over the years, take a look at the OB-4, a radio / instrument / speaker hybrid with an endless loop built-in, so you can hear everything that is played on the speaker, can rewind manually. There was also his series of $ 89 mini-synths with sounds from retro Capcom titles, or the modular synthesizers he released the previous year.

Teenage Engineering has also worked with Ikea on a range of audio products.
