Northlake Mall evacuates after shootings – WSOC TV

CHARLOTTE, NC – Northlake Mall was evacuated Saturday afternoon after reports of a shooting.

At around 16:00 a large police presence was seen outside the shopping center

MEDIC confirmed that two people were taken to the local hospital with minor injuries that fell during the evacuation.

Officials said they found evidence of a shooting, but found no one shot.

Police sources told Glenn Counts of Channel 9 that at least one shot was fired. It happened near the back of the mall, near Belk.

“And then someone was like, ‘There’s a shooting, there’s a shooting,’ and I said, ‘Well, everyone’s going down,’ said a person in the mall.

Police said no arrests had been made at this stage and they were trying to locate the shooter.

For those who have had family members at the mall, there is a reunion center at the Belk Lower Level parking lot.
