Nokia 1.4 debuts with a giant screen and a small price

HMD Global announced the Nokia 1.4 this week, which the company considers ‘family friendly’. This is because the screen is not only beautiful and large, but that the price is low – the perfect combination for a good starter phone.

The Nokia 1.4 features a 6.51-inch HD + screen with a tear-jerk design, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 215 processor and a large 4000 mAh battery that supports 5W charging. The device also includes a dual camera setup and up to 3 GB of RAM (depending on the region).

The device is very designed for the entry market, but that does not mean that it is worth checking out. The Nokia 1.4 offers durable design and excellent photography features, including Portrait Mode and Night Mode.

“As a father of two, I can relate to the challenges many families face in fitting in so many activities at home,” said Juho Sarvikas, Chief Product Officer and Vice President of North America, HMD Global. “As these needs continue to grow, we wanted to create a reliable and enjoyable experience that benefits all family members without contributing to financial households.”

HMD Global launches Nokia 1.4 with Android 10 Go, but said it’s ready for Android 11 Go “and beyond” and will receive at least three years of security updates. The device also includes built-in parental controls, which allow users to manage content downloaded from the Google Play Store.

“Whether it’s managing work emails, paying bills or engaging children in online extracurricular activities, our designers have addressed the fact that millions of families around the world spend more time at home,” said Sarvikas.

The Nokia 1.4 is available today in three different colors (Fjord, Charcoal and Dusk) and is sold for € 99. HMD Global did not specify in which countries the device is available, but said you can find it ‘worldwide’.
