‘No Time to Die’, the new James Bond movie, is delayed again

The film, starring Daniel Craig as the stylish spy, would open on April 2nd. But MGM announced on Thursday that it will push the action film to October 8.

This is the third time the film has been delayed since the coronavirus pandemic began. It was originally scheduled to open on April 10, 2020 in North American theaters.

The “No Time to Die” relocation schedule is a symbol of the impact of the pandemic on Hollywood. The 25th film in the Bond series was the first major film to be delayed due to the pandemic, but it was far from the last.

The coronavirus pandemic disrupted the film industry, causing theaters to close and push for months audiences to stay away mostly. Blockbusters like Marvel’s Black Widow ‘, Universal’s F9’ and Paramount’s Top Gun: Maverick ‘all experienced delays.

Other films, such as Warner Bros. ” Wonder Woman 1984 ‘did a hybrid release in theaters and appeared on HBO Max on the same day. Some movies like Pixar’s “Soul” and Disney’s “Mulan” have skipped American theaters and preferred to debut.

Warner Bros. has even gone so far as to say that he will release all 2021 films in theaters and on HBO Max on the same day. (Warner Bros. and CNN share the same parent company, WarnerMedia.)

The delay of “No Time to Die” is a big blow to theater owners who are desperate to get the audience back. However, moving the movie to a later date is a strong sign that it can take months before things return to normal in the movies.

Sony also said on Thursday that “Ghostbusters: Afterlife”, the sequel to the popular Ghostbusters franchise, will move from June 6 to November 11.

Now watch theater owners, whose business is plagued by the outbreak, and the rest of Hollywood to see if a new bunch of cards will be postponed in the coming weeks.

The next big movies on the calendar are ‘Black Widow’, which is set for May 7, and ‘F9’, which takes place on May 28.
