Coronavirus

EL PASO, Texas – El Paso health officials reported Saturday that 421 additional Covid-19 infections are known but no new deaths have occurred.

This was a significant change from the previous day, when officials added half a dozen deaths to start the year.

Active cases increased to 34,563, but the death toll remained at 1,473.

There were still 544 deaths being investigated on Saturday. It is believed Covid-19 deaths have yet to be confirmed, although most of the alleged deaths have historically been confirmed by health authorities.

As of Saturday morning, 390 virus patients were admitted to the hospital in El Paso, which was a slight increase after several days of decline. Of these, 138 are listed in intensive care, 111 of which require the use of fans.

The total number of cumulative virus cases during the pandemic was 99,327, and officials say 62,715 El Pasoans recovered. However, doctors warn that some people who are healthy still have a long-term health impact due to its impact.
