NJ vaccine megacite offers second doses after confusion with appointment, says province

After confusion over scheduling appointments for a second dose of COVID-19 vaccine at a Gloucester County mega-website, officials on Wednesday reminded people that follow-up doses would be available at the facility.

Provincial officials said they worked with the state to make sure those who received their first shot of the vaccine at Rowan College in South Jersey would receive the required second dose. The province has issued an update following bumps that contained bugs in a state-run system that led to duplicate discussions and a limited amount of photos.

“Every person who has received their first dose at the Mega Vaccination Center in Gloucester County will be accommodated for their second dose on site,” the state said in a statement.

According to officials, those who received the Moderna vaccine had to be contacted for the second appointment. If not, the country has asked individuals to call their coronavirus hotline at 856-218-4142.

In the case of the Pfizer vaccine, many individuals were emailed by the state, according to the province’s statement.

‘The email would have contained a date, time and QR code for your second dose. The QR code will be at the very bottom of the email, ”reads the statement. ‘If you have not received an email from the state about our second dose of Pfizer, please report to the Mega Vaccination Site in Gloucester County on the date on the back of your CDC card between 14-18 hours. Your appointment is being kept. ‘

Officials have reminded people to bring their vaccine tickets, which contain a federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, to the second appointment.

“In the future, all individuals leaving the mega-site will receive an appointment to return for their second dose with our backup system database,” the Gloucester County statement read. “You can still receive an e-mail from the state registration system, but we do not want to leave it to chance.”

The province’s COVID-19 vaccination phone is available from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for questions and can be reached at 856-218-4142.
