New Jersey expects snow again.
The National Weather Service predicts snow in the northwestern part of the state Monday morning, making it the fourth consecutive week, in part of Garden State. With a week left in the month, it’s already one of the snowiest February ever seen.
This week’s storm is becoming much milder than previous events, one of which was a monstrous 30-inch for some towns. As of Sunday morning, the NWS is forecasting between 2-3 centimeters in the Belvidere area and less than one centimeter in the Morristown area. New Brunswick, Toms River and Vineland are expected to see no congestion.
The snow will change to rain by noon, the NWS said.
There is no weather advice from Sunday morning.
Monday’s snow showers on Wednesday will give way to irregularly high temperatures, with sun and heights closer to what we usually see in late March, the NWS said.
With the 29.1 inches of snow Newark received, it is the sixth snow in February on Saturday, while New Brunswick’s 26.5 is the fifth snow in February.
The prolonged winter weather has caused headaches in the state, with teams working public works 24-hour shifts to keep up with the storms, trying to prepare for the next one.
The persistent snow also made it difficult to vaccinate the vaccine, with places having to close early days or rescheduling appointments of whole days during difficult weather. And bad weather nationwide has caused delays in vaccine shipments, causing even more appointments to be delayed.
