Nintendo Switch: stand-alone blue-and-yellow Fortnite Joy-Cons on the way

Nintendo has unveiled a new Joy-Con set with a Fortnite theme and it will be available later this summer. The Joy-Con set features a new blue Joy-Con with a distinctive Fortnite “F” on the back and a new yellow Joy-Con with the face of Peely, the banana on it. The Joy-Con controllers contain 500 V-Bucks and the Fleet Force bundle and it will go on sale on June 4th.

At the time of this writing, pre-orders are not yet available. As for cosmetics in the game and what the Fleet Force bundle actually includes, a new glider is unlocked and a set of special pickaxes. A price has not yet been announced for the new Joy-Con, but a similar limited edition Joy-Con has sold for the usual $ 79.99.

The company unveiled a special version of the Switch console with similar Joy-Con last year, based on Fortnite, and although this newly announced pair of Joy-Con looks similar, it is slightly different. This time, the left-hand Joy-Con is blue while the right-hand side is yellow, and unlike the Fortnite Switch edition Joy-Con, the blue controller of this set does not contain the battle bus. The yellow Joy-Con of this set does contain the face of Peely the Banana, which was not found on last year’s yellow Fortnite Joy-Con.
