Nintendo Plugs Zelda: Skyward Sword HD with new ‘Button-Only’ control scheme

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword for the Nintendo Wii was originally built from the ground up for motion control.

As a result, there is a lot of swing involved, and if you played back in 2011, you might remember how it was quite a workout. Some players also experienced a number of problems – motion control did not always work as intended and certain actions were not always recorded during the more important moments of the game if movements were not performed properly.

Fortunately, the HD version of the game coming to Switch is ah …turn things onby allowing players to use a more traditional control method – that is. button and analog input. Although Nintendo made this clear during the game’s recent unveiling, it’s now spreading the news about this new control option, which does not just mean you can play this game on the go now (and on a Switch Lite, for that matter) but also makes it much more accessible.

In addition to the button-only control system, Skyward Sword on the Switch also offers enhanced motion control support thanks to the updated technology in the Joy-Con controllers. The right controller will use Link’s sword, while the left controller will handle his shield. Just like the original game, you will also be able to perform other actions with motion regulators, such as shooting the bow and arrow of Link.
