In just a few days, Animal Crossing: New Horizons will be one year old. We would never have imagined the success that the title would achieve at the time, but here we are probably talking about the most important match of 2020. What a ride it has been so far!
However, there is still to come. With the first anniversary around the corner, Nintendo has detailed plans for the next update of the game. The update falls on March 18, and it’s big:
- 1st birthday cake – Nook Inc. made a 1st Birthday cake to commemorate the occasion. It will be sent to your game mailbox after the update is installed.
- Sanrio Sweetness – Add a little Sanrio sweetness to your island. As of March 26, the Animal Crossing Sanrio Collaboration Pack is on sale at Target stores in the US at a suggested retail price of $ 5.99. You will be able to use these six live amiibo cards to invite cute and colorful Animal transition residents inspired by popular Sanrio characters to your island, including Rita, Chai and Toby. With these amiibo cards you can also exchange bells for special furniture and fashion items in the game of Sanrio. You can even invite these characters to Harv’s Island for a fun photo shoot in Photopia.
- Custom Editor Pro Editor + – The Custom Design app on your NookPhone gets an upgrade! Use your Nook Miles at the Nook Stop in Resident Services to unlock the feature. It offers a more robust range of features, which can customize the use of umbrellas, small flags, uchiwa and photo stands. And with a new expansion of 50 slots added for the normal Custom Design mode and the Pro Custom Design mode, you can let your imagination run wild!
- Personal design portal – You can now add the Custom Design Portal in the Able Sisters store directly to your NookPhone in-game app. You can use it when inspiration occurs.
- Seasonal items Spring is in the air, and with the change of seasons comes a series of new seasonal items! Just before April Fool’s Day, a variety of color pillows can be ordered between 26 March and 1 April at the Nook Shopping service in the game. For something a little more elegant, you can prepare for prom season with fashion items from April 1 to April 30 at the Able Sisters store. You can also order prom items from Nook Shopping during this period, such as a prom night wall, prom night floor and a prom stash. Never miss the chance to dance!

- Build-A-Bear collaboration coming soon – Build-A-Bear Workshop will soon launch an Animal Crossing: New Horizons collection, exclusively online at buildabear.com. More details will be available.
- Super Mario Bros. 35de Birthday Theme Items – You may have noticed that new items were shipped to Nook Shopping Terminal in Animal Crossing: New Horizons this month. You can now order garments for famous faces like Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach and Wario. The Super Mushroom and the? Block can also be ordered in the game as furniture items to brighten up your island with a little Mario joy. You can even use the new Warp Pipe items to travel between places on your island. Why not try to recreate the Mushroom Kingdom?
