Former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley said Monday she would not run for president in 2024 if former President Donald Trump ran another White House campaign.
Haley served in the Trump administration as U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations from 2017 to 2018. She is considered a potential contender for the GOP’s presidential nomination in 2024. On whether she will support Trump if he is re-elected , Haley replied, ‘Yes. “
“I would not run if President Trump ran and I would talk to him about it,” Haley told the Associated Press. ‘This is something we’ll talk about at some point, if the decision has to be made. But yes, I absolutely want to. ‘
Trump has not yet indicated whether he intends to elect him president in 2024. Speaking at the Conservative Political Action Conference in February, Trump said he could “even decide to run again” and promised to be active in the 2022 mid-term race.
Haley said she last spoke to Trump “after the presidential election,” but before the January 6 riot at the Capitol.
“I had a great working relationship with him, and I appreciate the way he made me do my job,” Haley added. “I thought we did fantastic foreign policy things together. Look, I just want to build on what we have achieved and not look at how it is being broken down.”

Haley was a strong supporter of the Trump administration’s policies in her role as U.S. ambassador to the UN. When the former governor resigned in 2018, Trump called her a ‘fantastic person’ doing an ‘incredible job’ in the post.
But Haley was one of several prominent Republicans who criticized Trump after the January 6 riot, when his supporters stormed the Capitol as lawmakers gathered to confirm the Electoral College.
She told Politico that she was of the opinion that Trump “will not run for federal office again.”
“I think he’s going to find himself further and further isolated,” Haley said. “I think his business is suffering at this point. I think he lost any political viability he would have. I think he lost his social media, which the world meant to him. I mean, I think he lost those things it could really keep him moving. ‘
