Nike announced its first hands-free sneaker, the Go FlyEase, on Monday.
The wearer can slide on the shoes without bending, thanks to a ” stable hinge that can keep the shoes safe in an open and fully closed condition, ” the company says.
The design also makes it easy for the wearer to pull the shoe off by pressing on the heel with the opposite foot, Nike said. A ‘kickstand heel mimics the action that performs very intuitively to kick out their shoes’, it is said.
The Nike representative told Insider the shoe has a “strap” that holds it in place when open or closed and a “diving board” at the bottom of the shoe for a “continuous footbed” for comfort and stability . ” n e-mail.
