Nike CEO resigns after boy uses credit card for shoe sales businesses

Nike vice president and general manager for their North America division, Ann Hebert, resigned Monday after reports that she was linked to her son’s resale business, the company announced Monday.

Herbert was a 25-year veteran at the company.

Last week, Bloomberg Business Week reported on her 19-year-old son, Joe, who runs the resale business West Coast Streetwear. Joe Herbert’s credit card was reportedly used to buy more than $ 100,000 worth of shoes in limited edition to resell.

Bloomberg reports Joe said his mother ‘is so high on Nike that she can be removed from what he does’. He added that she had never given him information about him, such as discount codes.

However, Joe asked Bloomberg not to mention his mother in the article and stopped responding after the exchange.

Nike said it plans to announce a new head of North American geography soon.

Insider contacted Hebert and Nike for comment.
