Nick Jonas, ‘SNL’ host, assures brother that they’re still a band and then his own ‘Spaceman’

Singer Nick Jonas has had double duty as ‘Saturday Night Live”s host and musical guest – and reassured his nervous brother Kevin that, yes, they’re still a band.

“I’m honestly so excited to be here and support you,” said Kevin, who was in the audience during his brother’s monologue. ‘And also I must ask: are we good? Because I see you do a lot of solo stuff. Are we still a band? ‘

“Of course,” Nick replied before later performing two singles from his solo album: “Spaceman” and “This Is Heaven.”

“Are you sure? Because I just bought a house,” Kevin asked again.

The band broke up in 2013, thanks to Nick. Kevin, Joe and Nick Jonas finally reunited in 2019 and soon released their fifth album, “Happiness Begins.” Nick’s solo album, “Spaceman,” will be released on March 12th.

Jonas has been the musical guest on the program four times already (sometimes with his brothers). It was his first time offering.

Jonas added music to the monologue, which led Kate McKinnon, Kenan Thompson, Cecily Strong and Beck Bennett to sing ‘Drink With Me’, a twist on the nostalgic comrade song from ‘Le Miserables’. Jonas performed as Marius in the “Les Mis” concert in London in 2011 for the 25th anniversary of the play.
