To have a chance to win this unique prize, you must submit a screenshot of your Pokémon Go avatar via Twitter (do not forget to use the hashtag) # PokemonGOTourContest), as well as the three months in your dream combat team (non-legendary or mythical Kanto creatures only).
Applications will be reviewed by Niantic and the closing date is Monday 11 January 2021 at 23:59 PST (GMT −8). Full terms and conditions can be found here.

If you’ve ever played one of the main series of Pokémon games, you know how exciting it can be to see another trainer on your journey. There’s nothing like testing your own Pokémon on someone else’s, and it’s always fun to see each trainer express themselves with their team! Today we are delighted to announce that you will soon be able to have the experience in Pokémon GO – and you might just become one of the new Trainer characters in the game!
Event-exclusive trainer characters will appear on the map during Pokémon GO Tour: Kanto
During the Pokémon GO Tour: Kanto event you will see trainer characters on the map of the game. You can find and fight these Trainer characters regardless of whether you have a ticket for the Pokémon GO Tour: Kanto event. There will even be special timing that rewards you for fighting these coaches! We hope meeting these trainers on your Pokémon journey and engaging them in battle will help recreate the original Pokémon Red and Pokémon Green gaming experiences.
Who will these coaches be exactly? Well, one of them can be you!
How To Become A Popular Coach Character During Pokémon GO Tour: Kanto
We will be holding a competition to decide which trainers will appear as characters in the game during the event. To subscribe, post your entry on Twitter by Monday, 11 January 2021 at 23:59 PST (GMT −8) and contain the following elements.
1. A snapshot of your Trainer profile containing your Trainer name and displaying your avatar gear. 2. A list of three Pokémon that your team will consist of. These Pokémon must be among those originally discovered in the Kanto region and may not include Ditto, or any legendary or mythical Pokémon. 3. The hashtag #PokemonGOTourContest.
We will evaluate your entries based on the following criteria.
+ Creativity of avatar equipment
+ General theme
+ Pokémon Team CompositionTry to give you a theme, such as a cool and dynamic Electric Trainer or a liquid and powerful water type trainer. Would you like to show that you are part of Team Instinct, Team Mystic or Team Valor? The possibilities are endless – this is your chance to make your mark on Pokémon GO, so have fun designing your Trainer character!
