NEW YORK (February 10, 2021) The National Hockey League announced today that Vegas Golden Knights forward, immediately after notification that one of its players has returned a positive test for COVID-19 Tomas Nosek was removed from Tuesday night’s game against Anaheim, in exact accordance with the terms of the league’s COVID protocol. Nosek was immediately isolated from his teammates and close contact detection was started, also in accordance with the protocol.
Tomorrow night’s game in Las Vegas between the Golden Knights and Ducks remains planned to play at 22:00 ET / 19:00 PT. Rapid PCR Point of Care tests will be administered to all players and staff in both teams before the match (in addition to the daily laboratory-based PCR testing) and any decision regarding possible postponement will be made by the league, NHLPA and club medical officials, which follows all COVID protocols and local and federal regulations.
The Vegas organization has followed all recommended guidelines and will continue to protect the health and safety of their players, staff and the community at large, as outlined by the NHL, local, state and national agencies.
