Well, that was a whole big fantastic thing.
The massive extended NFL Wild Card weekend was outstanding from start to finish. Even when there was a bit of dud – (cough) Chicago New Orleans (cough) – it was still relatively entertaining in the abundance of all the games that matter.
And now we are getting even nicer.
Two games Saturday, two games Sunday, and they will be loaded.
Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen are the headline Saturday night when Baltimore goes to Buffalo, and we get the third round of Brady vs. Brees when Tampa Bay goes to New Orleans to finish Sunday night.
Oh yeah, and the Rams that go to Green Bay on Saturday and Cleveland go to Kansas City on Sunday are not bad either.
So what’s going to happen?
While doing this for the college side, we go with the first guesses and then work from there. As you say in the third grade, always go with your first answer. I do not look at the lines, do not guess what they are and then add them at the end.
By the way … drew 6-0 and 5-1 against the spread when it was done for the Wild Card round.
When our previews of the games appear – after the news of the week happens and there is even more deep diving – it can and can change, but …

Knee-Jerk Immediate Analysis: The Rams were able to pit it against a Seattle team that, for some bizarre reason, thought the answer of not being able to play the third time kept it deep. Green Bay will be sharper throughout.
That LA D – no. 1 in the NFL – is unbelievable, of course, but that Aaron Donald was cracked, and just as good as the performance against the Seahawks, it’s not going to be enough to overcome a still injured Jared Goff.
Green Bay does not turn the ball around enough to matter here, but there is a bigger problem … Green Bay.
It’s almost a week away, but the playing time is expected to be around 20 degrees.
