NFL FA Tracker Residents: Kyle Van Noy Reunited with New England

BYU’s Jamaal Williams is on his way to Lions over a two-year deal

Jamaal Williams’ time with the Green Bay Packers is over.

According to several reports, his time will start in the Motor City.

Williams has agreed to a two-year deal with the Detroit Lions worth up to $ 7.5 million a year, as first reported by Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network. Williams himself it seems to confirm late Tuesday night on Twitter.

Williams is a fourth-round pick in the NFL draft in 2017 and thanked the Packers earlier this week for the four years he spent in Green Bay, the first sign that he was on his way elsewhere.

“Thank you Green Bay for accepting me and making me grow into the man I am today and still thrive to be,” Williams wrote on Instagram. “I have nothing but RESPECT and LOVE for everyone who works in the Packers facility, from players, coaches, all the employees who work in Lambeau, and the fans !! I will miss it all, cherish and cherish all my memories I strive for Greatness.I look forward to what lies ahead and am excited to grind for what I want but nothing but to love GB.

In his four years with the Packers, Williams scored 1,985 yards and 10 touchdowns on 500 runs, where he combined with Aaron Jones, a competitive pick in 2017. The 6-foot, 213-pound native of Rialto, California, who became BYU’s overall racing leader, also had 961 yards and eight touchdowns through the air, which apparently became a dynamic threat in the receiving game from the backfield.

According to Adam Schefter, the Packers on Sunday agreed to a four-year deal with Aaron Jones, with $ 48 million, and a year ago, along with the signing of second-round pick AJ Dillon, he left a strong indication that Williams was elsewhere on the way.
