New Wyze Bulb Color is an assistant-compatible RGB smart light at a low price

Wyze has opened pre-orders for its new Wyze Bulb Color. $ 35 (plus $ 8 for delivery) offers four RGB-equipped, 1100 lumen color-smart light bulbs that are assistant compatible. It costs $ 10.74 each, making them one of the cheapest smart light bulbs you can get, and they ship next month.

Although we did not have time with the light bulbs ourselves, Wyze’s specifications make these new light bulbs sound very good. It’s probably brighter than the Yeelight M2 we reviewed recently and significantly cheaper, but they do not seem to benefit from Google’s funny new seamless setup process (we reached out to Wyze for confirmation). Still, it’s hard to complain about the price.

In addition to the usual 16 million RGB color support, Wyze advertises an extensive kelvin range for redder / warmer shades of white and a CRI rating of over 90 – out of a maximum of 100, the score is usually considered “excellent” and means the quality of white light that exists over its ingredients is better at illuminating other objects in a color accurate way. In short, things like art, paint colors and furniture in your home do not look so flushed compared to cheap LED or fluorescent lights. They use Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz) or Bluetooth for their connection, so you do not need a hub.

Unlike the recent Wyze Cam v3, you also do not have to have a subscription to charge these light bulbs, but you do have to pay for the company’s slightly expensive shipping. Even with the extra cost, it’s just under $ 11 each, making them as cheap as Amazon’s cheapest deals at the smartest home, and with none of the app, you’ve never heard of a sketch factor.

Wyze’s smart-colored light bulbs are one of our favorite smart home lights, and easily deserve the Most Wanted Editor’s Choice Award (though Wyze mistakenly mapped out some of the Assistant’s hot and cool tone labels, which still frustrates me). I expect these new color bulbs to be popular among the Assistant-integrated smart home crowd.
