New Windows Insider Build adds some minor improvements

Microsoft has released a new Windows Insider Program Dev build that you remember does not match any specific version of Windows. But unlike Dev’s most recent developments, there are some minor improvements and changes.

They are:

News and interests come to more markets. The poorly named ‘news and interest experience on the taskbar’ is now available in a broader set of international languages and markets’. Previously, it was only available in the United States, Canada, Great Britain, Australia and India. It is not clear what those languages and markets are; we just know that it is not available in China.

Microsoft Edge replaces Microsoft Edge Legacy. No surprise here, but I guess the big news is that Legacy Edge is finally over forever.

Enhancements for the Input Method Editor (IME). Microsoft redesigned its IME to be more modern, with optimized font size and faster access to emoji. Annoyingly, the Insider program also tests A / B this change because it hates the right thing.

In addition, there are several solutions, including this fun one: the product release version is now ‘Dev’, as the Dev channel does not match any upcoming Windows 10 version. This is definitely not ‘Windows 10 vNext’. (This would normally be the Beta channel.)
