A month from today, The falcon and the winter soldier hits Disney + and introduces fans again to Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) and Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) in a standalone series that takes place a while later Avengers: Endgame. To celebrate the anniversary, Marvel Studios has released another quick preview as a small gift for fans. Among the new shots of characters we’ve already seen, the teaser also includes a quick recording of the American agent (Wyatt Russell).
Interestingly, Russell’s character has so far been largely kept out of the marketing, as the exact same recording has been used so far in all teasers. Now you can see the character around the 17-second mark in the teaser, which you can see in its entirety above.
Withholding any major U.S. agent-related shots is a particularly interesting choice, as Mackie himself said the series is largely about a fight for the rightful holder of Captain America’s iconic star-and-stripe shield.
‘Look, at the end of Endgame, Sam did not accept the shield. If you remember, he told Steve [Rogers]”It does not feel right, because the shield is yours.” The program is therefore a long way to go to find out who Captain America is going to be, ‘Mackie reveals. ‘Where will the shield end up? And who’s going to be Captain America, and is going to get the monk back. Is anyone going to hold that moniker again? ”
“It’s a really good show, I was worried when I first heard it streaming,” Mackie began. ‘That quality would be lost. That it would change in this idea of what these movies could be, and that they would not be able to execute the action series, and give us the look we are used to when it comes to these Marvel movies. The action series is amazing. The story is great, you really get to know the characters and fall in love with the characters. As you can see with WandaVision. It just takes you further into the universe. So it is not going to disappoint. I’m excited that people are seeing this. ”
The falcon and the winter soldier premiere at Disney + beginning March 19th.
