NEW SUBSTANCE SETTING SYSTEM: County fully adopts state ‘MyTurn’ platform. Here’s how to sign up for Lost Coast Outpost

From the Humboldt County Joint Information Center:

Humboldt County now uses the California State “My Turn” platform for COVID-19 vaccinations and scheduling.

My Turn is an online system that enables residents to qualify and book vaccination appointments locally as available. All provinces must adopt this new platform to continue receiving COVID-19 vaccines from the state as part of the effort to increase the distribution and administration of vaccines.

As part of this transition, the online “Vaccine Interest Form” of Humboldt County will no longer be used.

  • If you have completed the form of interest but have not received a dose of COVID-19 vaccine, Submit your information via My Turn (MyTurn.ca.gov) to be notified and sign up for an appointment.
  • If you have received the first dose of two-dose public health vaccine and need a second dose, do not use My Turn. You should receive an invitation for a second dose of public health by email five to seven days before the clinic. If you have received your first dose from another provider in Humboldt County, that provider will contact you to schedule the second dose.
  • If you have not received a dose of COVID-19 vaccine yet, go to MyTurn.ca.gov to learn more about eligibility, schedule an appointment, and get updates on available appointments and locations. Public health clinics are available for registration on My Turn from this week. More presenters in Humboldt will be moving to My Turn in the coming weeks for their first dose of appointments.

My Turn requires users to schedule their first and second dose appointments simultaneously. Note that it can be very difficult to reschedule missed two-dose appointments through the state’s system, and that residents must carefully choose the appointment times to ensure that both doses of a two-dose vaccine are received within the recommended 42-day period. .

The system also requires an email address or a cell phone. Those without access to email or a cell phone or questions about My Turn can call the COVID-19 hotline in California at 1-833-422-4255 (Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday-Sunday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. .).

For general information, questions about second-dose appointments, or assistance navigating this new process, call the Humboldt County Joint Information Center at 707-441-5000, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
