Finally some good news: New Pokémon Cut will be released for Nintendo Switch on April 30, Nintendo and The Pokémon Company announced Thursday. The sequel to the original Pokémon Snap, released for Nintendo 64 in 1999, will send gamers to the Lental Region, where they will take pictures of Pokémon in the wild.
Players will work with Professor Mirror and his assistant Rita “on an ecological survey to make Lental Pokémon thrive in the wild,” according to a news release. Players will tour the Lental Islands in a vehicle on the track, known as the Neo-One, through various roads. Lentale Pokémon will be attracted to ‘Fluffruit’, an edible item that is sure to make photography of creatures in the wild much easier.
As with the original Pokémon Snap, players’ photos of Pokémon are judged based on their attitude, how big creatures appear on photos, whether they look at the camera lens and where they fall into the frame. Pokémon behavior that changes over time into New Pokémon Snap, and players “may see Pokémon behaving in entirely new ways.” A news release also bothers a new phenomenon native to the Lentale region: Illumina, a mysterious glow emanating from some Pokémon.
A new trailer for New Pokémon Snap show what lies ahead for players who want to fill out their Photodex.
