New Pokémon Presents Video Announced: Date, Start Time, Details

The company aired a broadcast of Pokémon Presents on Friday, February 26 at 10:00 a.m. ET, the company announced Thursday.

‘Get ready, coaches,’ says the company tweeted from Pokémon account. “Tomorrow – Friday 26 February – at 07:00 PDT a video presentation will take place on the official YouTube channel of Pokémon Presents.”

This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Pokémon franchise, which began in 1996 when Pokémon Red and Blue was originally released in Japan. The Pokémon Company has not yet said exactly what it will announce during the video, but many hope Pokémon Diamond and Pearl remakes – next on the list to get the Nintendo Switch treatment. Diamond and Pearl was originally released in Japan in 2006, but had a wider version in 2007. This is the 15th anniversary of the games this year, so a remake will be very timely.

On Saturday, it’s Pokémon Day, Post Malone will also be hosting a virtual concert celebrating the 25th anniversary of the franchise. Post Malone on Thursday released a cover of Hootie and the Blowfish’s “Only Wanna Be With You”, which was transferred for Pokémon’s 25th anniversary. No, he did not replace any words in the song with Pokémon references, à la ‘I just want Pikachuuu’, but the songs’ accompaniment songs definitely sound like something you would find in a Pokémon game.
