New performance Bentley Continental GT Speed comes on March 23

Bentley’s Continental GT Speed range is undoubtedly one of their best cars, but the latest generation has not yet received the special name. This is until now, as the new Continental GT Speed has been confirmed and will be launched on March 23 at 16:00 GMT.

Bentley calls the car “the most capable, performance-oriented Bentley to date – with no comfort or luxury.” It has new advanced chassis technology as well as Speed-specific styling features, and will be built in their new carbon-neutral factory. The only other things they shared about the car were the silhouette and the exhaust note, the last of which you can listen to in the clip below.

That said, if we know anything about previous Speed models relative to their normal continental counterparts, we can pretty much predict what this new one should look like. For reference, the previous Continental GT Speed has a 51 hp (52 hp / 38 kW), 53 Nm (39 lb-ft) torque and a top speed advantage of about 10 mph (16 km / h) over the ‘normal’ W12 version. The current W12 Continental has 626 hp (635 hp / 467 kW) and 900 Nm (664 lb-ft) of torque, so this new speed should only be an improvement over the already impressive figures.

What the car looks like there, you should expect it to be similar to the regular Continental GT, only with the above style adjustments exclusive to the Speed. The car should realistically also retain all its interior quality, and according to the Speed tradition, it will probably have a W12 engine. We will not know the details until it makes its debut next Tuesday, and so far we can only wait and see.
