New Lions GM Brad Holmes is excited to be working in Detroit

Holmes said he is a long-term, long-term and long-term thinker.

“It’s all about succession plans,” he said. “It’s just how I’m permanently wired. It’s how I see staff. It’s how I see football. It’s how I view my own personal life.

“I just think to make sure you’re aware of all the possible angles and all the possible outcomes that can happen, I think I’m very, very critical. “Because I think it’s our job. Our job is to predict the future, and I’m also a little nerdy about the psychology of the process.”

Holmes said he likes some of the building blocks that have been installed in Detroit. He talked about the quarterback position and Matthew Stafford, an “intrigue” upside down the offensive line, and a young running back in D’Andre Swift who called Holmes exciting and explosive.

On defense, he said newcomer Jeff Okudah is very backward, capable and has a high ceiling. He said the defense also has some upside developments.

In the end, Holmes said Detroit is just the perfect situation for him to take the next step in his career, managing the staff and football operations together with the hope of bringing a consistent winner to Detroit.

The next big task for the Lions is to find their head coach. Holmes said that some of the qualities he is looking for in the next head coach are a person who is a leader of men, someone who has command and presence, and within that presence is confident, ready, mentally tough and a great has a passion for developing players. and build through the concept along with a relatively young team.
