New iPad Pro with ‘A14X’ chip and Thunderbolt will arrive as soon as April

Apple’s next generation iPad Pro is expected to launch in April with a major performance improvement, Thunderbolt compatibility and, for the model with the largest screen, a Mini LED screen.

While the 11- and 12.9-inch tablets are predicted to carry a design from 2020, Apple may include new internal technologies such as Thunderbolt connectivity. The faster I / O protocol was used in the test and can fetch production models for compatibility with fast external hard drives and screens, the report said.

Finally, Apple is incorporating Mini LED technology into the larger 12.9-inch iPad Pro, which offers better local dimming, color reproduction and contrast ratios than regular LCD screens.

In addition to iPad Pro, today’s report claims that Apple is developing a thinner and lighter base iPad that can be released later this year, as well as an iPad mini refresh with a larger screen.

As usual most of Bloomberg’s information reflects months-old forecasts first broadcast by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo and other insiders in the industry. In September, Kuo said that iPad Pro will be the first Apple device to take advantage of Mini LED, while a Mac Otakara report in January claims that the technology would be limited to the larger 12.9-inch model. Earlier today, a report by DigiTimes suggested that a Mini LED iPad Pro would ship in April at the earliest.

Apple is likely to launch the new iPad Pro series at a special event in the coming weeks, although the company has not yet announced such an event.
