New Batwoman star Javicia Leslie reveals whether she spoke to Ruby Rose

New Bat star Javicia Leslie has revealed whether she has spoken to Ruby Rose since she picked up the mantle. When the switch was announced, many fans feared that the departure of the former star would be the end of the show. Rose decided to take advantage of other opportunities after season 1’s turn. But Leslie was revealed as her replacement, and that immediately stabilized the faith. In an interview with Variety, the star explained that she did not speak to the former Bat train. It would seem that the character is now a very different woman. Kate Kane and Ryan Wilder differ in fascinating ways. According to Leslie, writing the new season emphasizes it in ways you do not have to reinforce by trying to play off what Rose did in the previous season.

“The writers and the showrunner have done a good job, so I do not have to be deliberately different,” Leslie explained. ‘The text allows this character to stand out on its own and of course we are two different individuals, so my natural energy to it will already be different. I think my only job is to show up and have fun and play in the storyline that has already been created. ”

The Bat star commented on how much she was looking forward to introducing fans to Ryan. On DC FanDome’s last ear, she explained a bit more about the perspective change after season 2. The actress also admits that it’s really a dream to be a part of the bigger Arrowverse moving forward.

“Batwoman is already standing out because she does not have a superpower,” Leslie said. ‘All she uses is her intelligence and Luke [Fox] and her physical strength. I look forward to playing the role from a Ryan perspective, the perspective of this street kid. From someone who saw these superheroes grow up. Because it was also very important for Ryan to see that Batwoman was a lesbian, to check out her superhero role model. So, to not only fill those shoes, but also to [be] with those who have already done it, I think it’s going to be a lot for her. It’s going to be a culture shock for her, but I also think it’s really cool. ‘
