New apple pencil apparently leaks with a shiny finish and redesigned tip

Images that apparently depict a third generation Apple Pencil have been shared on Twitter by the leak known as “Mr. White. “

The supposedly new ‌Apple Pencil‌ apparently shares a similar design to the current, second generation ‌Apple Pencil‌, which is shorter than the previous version and inductively charges on the side of an iPad.

The updated ‘Apple Pencil’ seems to have a glossy finish, much like the one used on the first generation ‘Apple Pencil’ or AirPods, rather than the matte white finish used on the second version of the accessory .

The other notable difference is the hint of ‘Apple Pencil’. The first and second generation PenApple Pencil‌ has small, screw tips that can be easily replaced when worn. This updated model appears to have a significantly larger tip component, with a much longer portion screwing into the ‘Apple Pencil’ itself. It’s unclear why a new version of the ‘Apple Pencil’ might have a redesigned hint, but it’s probably an indication of internal design changes.

The redesigned head can indicate that new features are coming to the forefront of the Apple Pencil. In July last year, Apple applied for a patent for an Apple pencil tip that enables the device to test real-world colors via a color sensor. It is therefore clear that Apple is interested in expanding the usefulness of its ‌iPad‌ stylus.

All in all, the image suggests that the new upgrade of ‘Apple Pencil’ may focus more on the inside of the accessory, rather than on any significant external design changes. Nevertheless, it is not unreasonable to expect an extra functionality in the current model to justify a new version of the device.

“Mr. White” previously leaked correct images of the iPad mini 5, the back glass of the Graphite iPhone 12 Pro, the screen of the iPhone 12 mini and A14 chip components. Other leaks, such as a braided lightning cable and a black Apple Pencil color option, have not yet emerged, but ‘Mr. White ‘seems to be a reliable record.

It’s also important to note that new iPad Pro models are expected to arrive this month, so the time frame of this leak could increase its reliability. The new ‌iPad Pro‌ models are expected to feature upgraded A-series chips and mini-LED screens, all in a largely unchanged design.
