Avelo Airlines announced on Thursday, April 8, 2021 that it will start flying to 11 destinations from Burbank, California, later this month.

“There are too few seats in the United States offered by low-cost servers. That’s why we think the opportunity is great,” said Andrew Levy, chairman and CEO of Avelo. “Customers want a very inexpensive way to get from point A to point B.”

No stranger to starting an airline, Levy previously served as co-founder and president of Allegiant Airlines and is also the former chief financial officer of United Airlines, according to the outlet.
