New 2-in-1 Porsche Lego Kit can be a 911 Turbo or a 911 Targa

Lego fans, it’s time to pick your own Porsche business. The new two-in-one Lego Porsche 911 Turbo and 911 Targa kit offers the chance to customize your classic 911 build in one of the two iconic air-cooled models from the 1970s and 1980s.

The 1,458-piece kit recreates the classic choice you chose (sorry, you can only choose one version to build at a time) in delightful detail. It features the 911’s 2 + 2 interior with timeless dark orange and nougat, complete with tilting sports seats. There is also a handbrake, shifter and working handlebar. Obviously, both versions of the car have the car with the flat six six where it belongs: rear.

As with the real cars, the Turbo version gets a wider rear axle, whale tail spoiler, turbocharger, intercooler and special license plate. The Lego Targa gets a surround rear window, Targa-specific badge and thick targa bar, plus the removable roof sections that fit under the hood.

The Targa / Turbo kit contains several unique bricks specially designed for the Lego 911. The completed model is 4.25 centimeters long, 6.3 centimeters wide and only 14 centimeters long.

Those who order through Lego’s free VIP loyalty program can get a limited Lego Porsche ownership package with the car, which includes four P11che 911 history ads displayed as Lego art prints. The package also includes a certificate of ownership and a card wallet in a collector’s portfolio.

Lego and Porsche are working together on some neat programs aimed at releasing two-911s-one-kit. First, there is an online car meeting on February 16 on Lego.com for members of the Lego VIP program. There, Lego design master Mike Psiaki, Porsche exterior designer Fabian Schmölz and Porsche Heritage and Museum Jörg Thilow will talk about the story behind the new combo-911 Lego model. The speakers also go into the history of the Porsche 911 and the evolution of its iconic design.
