Nevada plans to reopen all 100% capacity reopens in June

Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak on Tuesday planned to reopen 100% of all provinces in the state by June.

Sisolak told a news conference that all decisions made by the state were thoughtful and deliberate throughout the pandemic, as he had laid out a way by June to return to a “more normal Nevada lifestyle.”

“As with every decision I had to make during this pandemic, I know that many people will say it is too soon, others will say it is not soon enough,” Sisolak said.

Over the past month, the governor added that daily new cases have stabilized at relatively low levels, while more residents have received COVID-19 vaccines.

With effect from May, government-wide social distance regulations will be terminated and without province over other mitigation efforts transferred to provinces, but for the time being residents will still be expected to wear masks.

Sisolak emphasized several goals, including getting Nevada workers back on track and restarting conventions, which he said would speed up the state’s economic recovery.

Sisolak also said the federal health agency’s recommendation Tuesday to suspend injections of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine did not affect the plans.

Several states eased restrictions on closure to varying degrees earlier this year, including Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi.

However, the infection rates in the US are increasing, even though officials are trying to administer the doses of COVID-19 vaccines to prevent serious illness and additional death.

There is constant concern about the possible spread of more contagious variants in communities.

According to information from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, an estimated 22.7% of the population has been vaccinated so far.
