Nintendo has now removed the video application from Netflix designed for the Wii U and 3DS from both eShops.
As of December 31, 2020, it can no longer be downloaded by new users. However, it is still possible for existing users to download the applications at this time.
The service for Wii U and 3DS will be discontinued later this year on June 30, 2021. Here is the full message from Nintendo from its website:
“Beginning December 31st, 2020, the Netflix app will no longer be available for new users to download from Nintendo eShop on the Wii U console or Nintendo 3DS family of systems. During this time it will be possible for existing users to download these applications again. Service for existing users will continue until June 30de, 2021. Many thanks to everyone who has enjoyed Netflix over the years. “
So does that mean Netflix is on its way to the Switch? Unfortunately, there has been no talk of it since the former Nintendo of America president Reggie referred to it in 2019. Enter it all into our Netflix directory.
