Netflix says it is currently not testing the support for spatial audio support for the AirPods Pro and AirPods Max, and an earlier report claiming support would roll out in the spring is being brought to rest.
In a statement to MacRumors, a Netflix spokesman, says it is not currently testing spatial audio support, and that it has no plans to release it at this time. Rather, Netflix says it is testing multi-channel support for built-in speakers, as part of its mission to ‘improve’ its service and evaluate ‘new experiences’ for users.
Users of Netflix and AirPods were about to wait for the streaming giant to accept the feature. The pressure on Netflix is not easing, as some of its biggest competitors such as Disney Plus, HBO Max, and of course, Apple TV +, already include spatial audio support.
