Netflix loses two popular Nintendo shows

It seems that some cartoons with the Nintendo Super Mario family are no longer available on Netflix: The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3 and Super Mario World. Loosely based on the beloved NES and SNES games, the two shows follow the heroic deeds of Mario, Luigi, Toad and Princess Toadstool as they battle it out with King Koopa and the Koopalings. The timing is unfortunate for those who want to enjoy some festivities before Mario Day, but fans will be happy to know that The Super Mario Bros. Super Show remain available on the service as of this writing.

Some stores have wrongly claimed this The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3 and Super Mario World will be removed on March 31, but it looks like both shows are away from Netflix. March 31st is also the same day that some games are no longer available in the Nintendo Switch eShop. Nintendo gave that date as the last chance for players to buy the digital version of Super Mario 3D All-Stars, and the last day that Super Mario Bros. 35 will be available. However, these games were always intended as free-running releases, and there does not seem to be a real connection between the removals.

The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3 and Super Mario World is often associated with The Super Mario Bros. Super Show, but there are a number of differences between them. Note, Super Mario Bros. 3 and Super Mario World mostly featured new voice producers, dropping the live action segments attached to the band Superskou. Both cartoons also introduced new elements based on their respective games, while Superskou was loosely based on Super Mario Bros. 2.

While this news is undoubtedly disappointing for some Netflix users, Paramount + subscribers will be pleased to know that both cartoons are currently available on the service! This should give Nintendo fans extra incentive to visit Paramount +. The streaming service also has Console Wars, a documentary about the conflict between Nintendo and Sega during the 90’s. As such, Paramount + subscribers have several options to enjoy the 90s Nintendo goodness!
