Netflix Godzilla Singular Point Anime features classic Kaiju

Every time Toho and Netflix release a new preview for their upcoming Godzilla: single point series, the anime seems more and more rad. This giant preview is the most exciting look yet, as it reveals many kaiju enemies of the Big G will be coming to the show – although the biggest surprise is that it’s the home recharge of the robot Jet Jaguar is a absolute bad.

In addition to the 50 million skinheads of Rodans flying around, we saw Anguirus, Kumonga, the giant spider, which is a clear or water-based version of Hedorah (formerly known as the Smog Monster), something that looks strange like a cross between Baragon and Gabara, and a flying monster that might be Battra, Megaguirus, or maybe even the Chinese dragon-like Manda. There is also something with two giant tentacles that is very similar to the plant sample Biollante, except that it is watery rather than flowery. It’s a shame I’m so vague about some of this, but as you will see if you look at the trailer, its appearance will quickly snap-and-miss.

Again, the real surprise to me is that Jet Jaguar –whose design in Single point made a few times more ridiculous by making him 90 percent torso –is deadly serious when it comes to fighting kaiju. He is fast, agile and he carries a giant divine sieve that uses a massive kaiju horn as a blade. This is just fantastic.

Godzilla: single point comes to Netflix in Japan on March 25 before a TV broadcast in the country from April 1 and will stream internationally on Netflix later this year. Let us know in the comments if you have any insights into what kaiju it is, or if you have noticed others!
