Neera Teeth Committee suddenly slows down because the nomination of the Biden budget choice is jeopardized

The Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee (HSGAC) and Senate Budget Committees postponed scheduled business meetings on Wednesday where they had to vote on Neera Tanden, President Biden’s choice to be the director of the Office of Management and Budget.

An official notice that the make-up of Teeth has been postponed has been issued on the HSGAC website. A well-known source told Fox News that ‘Teeth’s budget allocation is being postponed’ shortly before the budget committee sent its official notice.

Teeth’s nomination was on shaky ground ahead of the planned committee votes after Senator Joe Manchin, DW.Va., and many Republicans said they would oppose her nomination last week. Now it is further called into question by the cancellation of the two committee votes.

“I have thoroughly reviewed Neera Teeth’s public statements and tweets that have been carefully directed at my colleagues on both sides of the aisle, from Senator Sanders to Senator McConnell and others,” Manchin said. “I believe that her openly biased statements will have a toxic and detrimental impact on the important working relationship between members of Congress and the next director of the Office of Management and Budget.”

Fox News asked the White House if he had withdrawn Tanden’s nomination. White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki responded with a statement praising Teeth.

“Neera Teeth is a leading policy expert bringing critical qualifications to the table in this time of unprecedented crisis,” Psaki said. “She also has an important perspective and values, and understands firsthand the powerful difference that policy can make in the lives of those who are going through difficult times. She has a wide range of support, ranging from the US Chamber of Commerce. to trade unions, and has a strong record of cooperation with both parties, which we expect to grow in President Biden’s cabinet as the first South Asian woman to lead OMB. ‘
