Nearly 700,000 Utahns are now fully vaccinated against COVID-19, says the Department of Health

The state reports two more deaths from the coronavirus.

Nearly 700,000 Utahns have been completely vaccinated against the coronavirus – more than 20% of the state’s total population.

The Utah Department of Health has administered another 30,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccine in the past day, and two more Utahs have died from the coronavirus.

Vaccine doses administered in the past day / total doses administered • 30,001 / 1,738,003.

Utahns fully vaccinated • 699,517.

Cases reported in the past day • 358.

Deaths reported in the past day • Two: A woman between the ages of 65-84 in Carbon County, and a woman 45-64 in Salt Lake County.

Tests reported in the past day • 5,683 people were tested for the first time. A total of 15,222 people were tested.

Hospitalizations reported in the past day • 124. These are two from Monday. Of those currently admitted to the hospital, 59 are in intensive care units – two less than Monday.

Percentage of positive tests • According to the state’s original method, the rate is 6.3%. This is lower than the seven-day average of 7.7%.

The state’s new method counts all test results, including repeated tests of the same individual. Tuesday’s rate was 2.4%, lower than the seven-day average of 3.8%.

Total to date • 390,647 cases; 2,161 deaths; 15,804 hospitalizations; 2 455 549 people were tested.
