Cardtronics Plc is in talks to accept a $ 1.7 billion offer NCR Corp., according to people familiar with the matter, after the ATM operator offered too much Apollo Global Management Inc. and Hudson Executive Capital LP.
The people can announce an agreement as early as Monday, the people said they should not be identified because the case is private.
Apollo’s consortium has decided not to increase its offer, they added.
NCR earlier this month offered to buy Cardtronics for $ 39 per share, above the $ 35 per share offered by Apollo and its partner last year.
Cardtronics shares traded $ 40.86 in New York on Friday, giving Hatfield, the English company, a market value of about $ 1.8 billion.
A representative of Cardtronics and Apollo declined to comment. NCR and Hudson Executive could not be reached immediately.
