NBA Official: Oh, Hey, Sorry, Bulls

Oh, sure … NOW YOU’RE SAYING SOMETHING.

Do you remember how the game against the Warriors ended last night? Of course you can. It was the first game of the year during which the Bulls had a chance to win at the start of the fourth quarter. But if you missed the end (or blocked it completely), the Warriors did it just after Zach LaVine gave the Bulls a (very) late one point lead:

Ball game.

Except … it really shouldn’t have been. According to the NBA’s report on the last two minutes:

NOT ONLY if there was a five-time offense, Kevon Looney * also committed an offensive offense to set a screen on Coby White, which you can see nicely in this longer video of the last play:

I mean, come on! Looney basically settled white on the ground.

You hate to blame the refs – and maybe the Bulls should NEVER have let it get that close – but if there are TWO different ways, the other team should have had to blow it, but getting away with it is hard to stomach. Especially considering how obvious both calls were (how do you miss a five-second offense … come on). This is exacerbated by the fact that the next two weeks on the Bulls schedule look HEAVY. It was perhaps their best chance for an early victory and it was taken from them. Two times.

Sigh. What are you going to do?
