Navarra participates in three national ambition programs to promote precision medicine –

Professionals of SNS-O, NASERTIC in Navarrabiomed collaborate in the IMPaCT convocator of the Instituto Carlos III, in the areas of Genome Medicine, Predictive Medicine and Date Science

Professionals of the Navarro Salas-Osasunbidea Service (SNS-O), NASERTIC (Navarra of Services and Technologies and the Navarrabiomed Biomedical Investigation Center participates in three convocation programs to boost the Infrastructure of Marine Medicine by Precision IMP the Salud Carlos III Institute (ISCIII), which has as its objective the medicine of precision.

The three programs promoted within this initiative are Medicina Genómica, Medicina Predictiva, y Ciencia de Datos.

The convocator to impulse IMPaCT constitutes the first step of the new Spanish Strategy for Personalized Medicine and amounts to a grant of 25.8 million euros. The Institute of Health Carlos III (ISCIII), a dependent organism of the Ministry of Science and Innovation, promotes this initiative in its programs.

Permit will advance in the implantation of personalized precision medicine in Spain, through the generation of genomic information generation, its integration with clinical information and ambient factors to improve diagnostics, treatment and prediction ability in the a more effective, effective, preventive and predictive medicine.

In this sense, it is proposed to create new massive sequencing centers, analyze data and biobanks and boost the development of new computing techniques, data processing and models that increase the exploitation and interoperability of existing systems of existence to support national health systems and the potential to participate in international projects.

Development of public programs and participation in Navarre

The first of the three, the Genome Medicine Program, will develop a network of five genomic analysis centers, one of them in Navarre. Since the Community of Foral has established an alliance between the Navarra Hospital, Navarrabiomed and NASERTIC. Ángel Alonso, responsible for the Unit for Medical Medicine of Navarre and co-ordinator of the Technical Committee of the Interdepartmental Strategy for Personalized Medicine of the Government of Navarre, will lead the public participation in Navarre.

In addition, a group of clinical experts will be established and, in total, the participation of 38 centers of all the autonomous communities will meet: 25 hospitals and 13 research and university centers, between them and the University of Navarre. The coordination will be in Angel Carracedo from the CIBER of Rare Sicknesses (CIBERER) and will meet with a funding of 7.24 million euros.

In this form, Navarra convenes on one of the 5 “genetics capitals” at the national level through the Gobierno Foral’s support by the NASERTIC Massive and Supercomputation Center. From the public company the genome and genome sequencing of patients in Navarre, Cantabria, País Vasco and La Rioja will take place. In addition, in coordination with other four centers of sequencing (CRG-CNAG, Fundación Pública Galega de Medicina Xenómica, CIBERER and Fundación Progreso y Salud) in hospitals and centers of the research on the whole of Spain, implement the protocols and standards of diagnosis patients with rare and cancerous diseases, the study of pharmacists for high-impact therapeutic pharmacies and models of access to data and the ethical and legal market with the end of advancement in the elaboration of a National Plan of Genome Medicine.

El Predictive Medicine Program has the end of the creation and maintenance of a population cohort (a group that forms part of a clinical study or study that is observed during a period of time), including clinical, epidemiological and biological data.

You have participated in a total of 21 institutions within hospitals and centers for research into the toda España and the coordination of Marina Pollán desde el CIBER de Epidemiología y Salud Pública (CIBERESP). Navarra participates in the First Auction Service Navarro de Salud – Osasunbidea and leads the Patricia Palacios team.

This program, like the previous one, will be managed at the national level by the Consorcio Center for Biomedical Investigation in Red (CIBER) and will have a funding of 14 million euros.

El Date Science Program will create and maintain a system of recovery, integration and analysis of clinical and molecular data. Deelneming 47 institutions, covering all autonomous communities with accredited sanitary research institutes, and collaborating companies, foundations, universities and research centers and with a funding of 4.55 million. The initiative is coordinated by Alfonso Valencia, from the Barcelona Supercomputing Center – Centro Nacional de Supercomputación (BSC – CNS).

The program will be managed in Navarre by the Navarrabiomed International Bioinformatics Unit and at the front of the initiative will be its manager, David Gómez-Cabrero. In addition, he is a professional participant in NASERTIC, the Navarrabiomed Methodology Unit, the Department of Health and the Department of Universidad, Innovation and Digital Transformation of the Navarra Government.

A total of 100 institutions will collaborate in the implementation of the three IMPaCT convocation programs.
