Nr. 3 in the state of Ohio, will be even more short against Alabama, No. 1, in the College Football Playoff National Championship. Buckeyes star running back Trey Sermon left the field to go to the locker room after his team’s opening series was three-and-out. According to ESPN sideline reporter Maria Taylor, Sermon was subsequently transported to the hospital for further evaluation and will miss the rest of the match.

The status of Sermon’s injury is not yet known, but he seems to be benefiting from his left arm / shoulder when he walks off the field with team coaches. Taylor reported that he could not lift his arm. He had a 2-meter rush and injured himself on his own carry.

The loss of sermon is certainly a crushing blow to the state of Ohio. The Oklahoma transfer really took place in the last three games, which accounted for 636 yards and four touchdowns reminiscent of the Michigan State game on Dec. 5. Northwest wins the Big Ten title and Clemson the semifinal.

The state of Ohio has Master Teague as another quick option. Teague led the team with six rushes on the season and managed to level at 7-7 in the first quarter of the game.
